WADN was started in March 2002. At that time I saw an opportunity to provide updated news and information to doctors and other healthcare professionals in the sub region.
As of September 2010, WADN has more 850 articles in its database.
The team:
The West African Doctors Network (WADN) was setup in March 2002 by Francis Stevens George [BSc Econs, (Hons), MBA, MM]. Francis who lives in Oslo, Norway, is a Sierra Leonean. Francis is the Project Director, Chief Architect and Chief Technology Officer for WADN.

Asst, Project Director, Responsible for Organisations and Institutional Partnership, Responsible for Nigeria and regional strategy, Senior Adviser. Dr Oyebola is presentaly at the Federal Medical Centre,Abeokuta, Ogun – State. Nigeria.
Senior Consultant Anesthesiologist and Head, Department of Anesthesia. Formerly, The Chairman Medical Advisory Committee and Director of Clinical Services and Training. He was also a member of Board of Directors at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun-State. Nigeria.

The role includes the following:
-Strategic Management of the Network
-provide content to support the development of the network
-Manage day-to-day submission of content
-Ensure the quality and integrity of the documents published
-Assist practitioners in writing submissions suitable for publication
-Undertake a review of intranet information architecture and conduct regular user needs analyses
Dr. Faseru also has a Diploma in Computer Studies. He is a good Church Organist- A member of Royal School of Church Music, Cleveland Lodge, England. He is happily married to Olubukola and blessed with a son- Ayotomiwa.
Dr Lawrence CE Mbuagbaw, Asst. Content Manager
Dr Lawrence CE Mbuagbaw, has been appointed as a Content Manager for the network. Dr. Mbuagbaw is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaoundé 1. He was born in Cameroon on the 11th of February 1981. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of the Bafut District Hospital in the North West Province of Cameroon and practices general medicine, surgery and legal medicine. He is particularly interested in public health issues, obstetrics and gynaecology. Also a member of the Cameroon Red Cross and the Cameroon National Medical Council.
